One Direction mania causes fans to faint in Sydney

The One Direction lads are proving just as popular in Australia as they are in the UK and America, as they continue to take Sydney by storm.

Yesterday, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan caused chaos when they appeared on the breakfast show Sunrise at Channel 7 studios.

While they were treated to local delicacies, with Harry chomping on a pie and Louis giving a thumbs up to Caramello Koala chocolate, outside One Direction mania went into overdrive as thousands of screaming girls tried to catch a glimpse of the Brit boys.

According to reports, at least 10 young fans were treated after passing out in a packed Martin Place when the band appeared at a window at the Sunrise studios.

While police and security guards tried desperately to keep the crowds under control, at least 50 parents checked their 1D loving daughters into the Hotel Intercontinental, where the boys are believed to be staying.

Other fans camped out in an attempt to get the best view possible of the lads.

Not that the fan madness appears to be stopping the boys having a ball down under.

Fresh from enjoying a day on an exclusive yacht at Sydney Harbour, the lads have also been trying to get into the Aussie spirit by trying out the surf.

Harry and Zayn were also spotted sampling the local nightlife, surrounded by crowds of lovely ladies.

Twitter user Britt Cordina Tweeted pictures of the pair in an unnamed club in Sydney and said how "lovely" and "sweet" they are.
