New Zealand teenage girls turned out by the thousands over the weekend hoping for a glimpse of British-Irish boy band One Direction, which performed two shows in Auckland on Saturday. But it seems not all knew who they were screaming for.
A radio producer wearing dark glasses and a scarf was mobbed when he left an Auckland hotel after interviewing the stars, as young female enthusiasts believed he was a member of the five-piece band.
Some realized that Guy Parsons, 23, wasn’t who they thought, while others didn’t care, and still took photos with the producer.
One Direction, which was formed for the British television series “The X Factor,” has become one of the most famous pop acts in the world, its members being chased by girls in many parts of the world.
