Taylor Swift Talks Being A Role Model: 'Pretend It Doesn't Matter, But It Does'

Taylor Swift has said that celebrities need to face up to the fact that they are role models, whether they like it or not.

The country-pop star has been praised throughout her career for setting a good example to her younger fans, and she told 'Live! With Kelly' today that she is "not uncomfortable" with the prospect.

"You have to be conscious of that," she said. "If you're choosing to put out music and be out there in the public, you have to be conscious of the fact that you are a part of the raising of the next generation and you do have an impact on that.

"So, choose your outfits and your words and your actions carefully. I think it matters. I think it really does. You can pretend it doesn't, but it does."

Taylor contributed two songs to the soundtrack to 'The Hunger Games', one of which features The Civil Wars.

The film has already broken a Box Office record in the US.
