After guest starring in the February 27 episode of "Smash", Nick Jonas is set to return to the show before it wraps its first season. The singer playing Nate in "Camp Rock" will reprise his role as Lyle West, a sitcom star who began his career as a child actor in a Broadway production, in the season finale that will air May 14.
When previously asked if he will return for another guest stint, Jonas said, "I think that there has been talk about it, but I haven't really heard an official word yet... If they do have me back it really provides an opportunity for him to get deeper into it and kind of dig in and get more involved." In the February outing, his character Lyle struck a deal with Eileen to become an investor in the Marilyn Monroe musical.
Meanwhile, Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters will make her guest-starring appearance in next week's episode of the new musical show. She will portray Ivy's mother, Leigh Conroy, a former theater star who now lives vicariously through her daughter.
Leigh arrives just in time for "Marilyn the Musical" presentation in front of would-be investors. Ivy is not happy with the way Derek treats her, while her mother undermines her at every turn.
Titled "The Workshop", the said outing will air Monday, March 19 at 10/9c on NBC. Also in the same episode, Julia and Michael must face up to the consequences of their affair, and someone will have to go as lies are unraveled.
