Nick Jonas' usual demographic may be much more glee, but in two weeks he will be appearing on TV's other musical, Smash.
Playing the precocious child star Lyle West with eyes for just about every woman in the room, Jonas comes into the story when Derek (Jack Davenport) throws him a birthday party. It's a bit of contention between Derek and Tom (Christian Borle) over who discovered this star years earlier during a shared production of "Oliver Twist," but these days Lyle (and Jonas!) is all grown up and much more interested on wooing ladies with his seemingly suave charm, instead of making them coo over how adorable he may be.
All of Manhattan's elite artists are at this party, so naturally that means Julia (Debra Messing) and Ivy (Megan Hilty), and when Eileen (Anjelica Huston) catches wind of just how rich Lyle is these days, she decides to strike up a business deal with Lyle to help her fund the new "Marilyn" musical.
But Lyle isn't just wealthy and cocky-- he's also smart, and he knows better than to make a deal sight unseen. So Eileen and Julia gather a few more players from their show to perform for him and entice him to invest.
Although, he's still young enough that Ivy simply giving him the time of day may have been enticement enough...
And don't worry, all you Jonas Brothers fans, Jonas doesn't come into the episode (entitled "The Cost of Art") without taking the mic and singing a tune himself!
Smash airs on NBC on Monday nights at 10pm. "The Cost of Art" will air on February 27th 2012.
