Miley Cyrus may be all about the mindset of "Party in the USA," and the provocative singer has proven it with her somewhat controversial ways -- from tattoos to racy Twitter pictures and posts; plus more scantily clad leaked photos; not to mention that infamous bong incident; and the list goes on. But could Cyrus be turning a new leaf in 2012, returning to her more family friendly Hannah Montana roots and perhaps becoming a more suitable role model for her younger fans? Maybe!
Cyrus' relationship with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth is apparently still going strong in the New Year and so is one of her reported resolutions: to kick the smoking habit to the curb, once and for all. Good for her (and her health!), and good news for the fans who look up to her. According to the International Business Times, a source confirmed Miley Cyrus is "so far, so good" on the nicotine habit. "She knows it's bad for her health and her voice... She probably smokes half the amount she once smoked... She was, at one point, like a chain smoker, which is no longer the case." Well, the former Disney starlet is obviously not going cold turkey, but baby steps are better than no steps at all.
The other sign Miley Cyrus may be adding a few much-needed points to her role model rating and that she could be cleaning things up a bit—and at least on a few notes in the first few weeks of 2012—is her recent party rendezvous with Hemsworth at Beacher's Madhouse in Hollywood. While there, the 19-year-old reportedly didn't let a drop of alcohol cross her lips (nor did her 21-year-old boyfriend). Of course, she's technically underage, but somehow that legal drinking law seems to slip under the radar, especially in celebrity world. However, as Hollywood Life reports, Cyrus did get her groove on, "[dancing] next to the stage" throughout the night. Sounds like she stayed sober and still had a smashing time!
