Selena Gomez has suggested that she and her boyfriend, Justin Bieber, take a break—why? Gomez doesn't approve of Bieber's hip hop friends. Justin may be clean-cut, but his new friends? Not so much. Chris Brown obviously is known for beating Rihanna, Lil Wayne has been formerly convicted on gun charges, and Sean Kingston is "a former child burglar." Is Selena being too hard on Justin, or is she sincerely worried that they will turn her good boy bad—and perhaps put her in danger?
Justin sure has been doing non-Justin-like things lately, like wearing a foul language T-shirt. Perhaps Selena is right about where his influences are coming from.
This seems to be the incident that spurred all those break-up rumors that have been circulating this past week. Basically, Selena wasn't too happy that Justin brought his long-term friend, Sean Kingston, to one of her concerts last week in Florida, and the couple argued about it.
As far as Justin's friendship with Sean, the two have known each other a long time and they both have the same manager. Sean Kingston was in a near-fatal Jet Ski crash over Memorial Day weekend, and Justin was checking in on his friend. Considering those circumstances, it seems a bit mean that Selena would disapprove of Justin spending time with him.
According to The Sun, a friend of Selena Gomez said, "Selena told him to stop hanging with these bad people. She didn't want him to crash her gig. They had a huge row and said it was good they were having time apart while she was on tour."
Selena's friend said Justin was in tears when they were fighting. The friend reportedly said, "It's hard seeing a little 17-year-old crying and saying he loves her."
Maybe now that Selena is 19, she's beginning to realize that boys don't mature nearly as quickly as women.
So, that seems to be where the breakup rumors started... but then the very next day, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were spotted cruising through the streets of Miami in a Rolls-Royce.
Who can keep up?
