Jessie J, Justin Bieber & More Respond To UK Riots




The likes of Jessie J and Justin Bieber have taken to Twitter to address the current riots that are happening across London and elsewhere in the UK.

Mobs of youths have caused scenes of violence, criminal damage and looting across the capital, with Hackney, Croydon and Ealing amongst the worst affected areas, after a third night of riots damaged shops and houses.

The chaos has also spread outside London, with incidents of rioting being reported in Birmingham, Liverpool and Bristol.

In response to the situation, Jessie J took to Twitter to tell her followers: "These riots are not cool. Frustrates me that I cant do anything, no one can. Anger being taken out on innocent people and innocent communities is not fair."

The Nobodys Perfect singer added: "Watching the news. I really don't understand... I don't get it??!!! Why destroy your own community? Why hurt innocent people. This is NOT how to gain respect. This is NOT how to get justice. This is NOT how to gain peace."

Justin Bieber also leapt into action on the mirco-blogging site, telling his eleven million plus fans on Twitter: "WHOAH...been out of the loop all day. to all the people of the UK I hope you are ok. my prayers go out to you and the amazing people there."

X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos branded the riots in her hometown of Camden as "absolutely disgusting”, while Example claimed that watching news coverage of the riots made him “feel embarrassed to be a Londoner."

Hackney born Leona Lewis warned rioters: "u r ruining our area wrecking people's homes & business”, as Tinchy Stryder slammed the violence stating: "This needs to stop now man, ridiculous!!”

Young Money's first lady Nicki Minaj also commented on the situation, sending her well wishes, tweeting: "Peace be with London."

Calvin Harris urged more musicians to speak to their fans who may be involved in the trouble on Twitter, expressing his sadness for the “innocent people + their jobs, homes, being destroyed."
