Miley Cyrus has just acquired an unlikely new "fan"—Hindu statesman Rajan Zed. Hinduism is not only the oldest religion in the world, it is also the largest. Now, the Hindu community has, in the person of Mr. Zed, spoken out of favor of the former Hannah Montana star's apparent belief in the concept of reincarnation.
Miley Cyrus has certainly been posting some weird—er—interesting messages on Twitter lately. A few weeks ago, she Tweeted that she'd dreamed of being murdered by Charlie Sheen. On July 17, she posted a message which seemed to proclaim her belief in the Hindu concept of reincarnation.
Dear Universe, For my next life can I please come back as some form of marine life? Such a great day. The water makes me feel so free :)
Cute.
On July 21, Zed called Miley Cyrus' statement an "endorsement by Cyrus of an age-old Hinduism concept, which [we] had been stressing all along." He then encouraged her to further explore the "rich philosophical thought which Hinduism... offered."
It's good that Miley Cyrus is open to new ideas and systems of philosophical thought, but with all due respect to Mr. Zed, her Tweet was probably more whimsical than philosophical. It sounds like she was just feeling good after a fun day at the beach. Or not. Perhaps a hundred years from now, crowds of the future will be entranced by a female dolphin at Sea World who only "dances" to the tune of an early 21st century song, called Party In The U.S.A.
Note to Miley Cyrus: Sadly, the soul doesn't get to choose the form in which it will be reincarnated. But good luck trying. You go, Sea Girl.
