Taylor Swift is not ready to take Jake Gyllenhaal back, it has been claimed. The "Mine" hitmaker has sparked rumor she might be reconciling with the "Love and Other Drugs" actor after the former couple were spotted going out for a dinner together in mid-January. Hollywood Life, however, begged to differ.
A friend of the 21-year-old informed the gossip site, "Jake apologized for everything that happened and wanted to start fresh with Taylor, but she didn't just take him back that easily. She still is telling some of her friends she's single." But, the so-called pal didn't rule out possibility of a reunion as saying, "They aren't exclusively back together yet, and I don't know if it's going to happen."
Us Magazine supported the report that Taylor won't be rekindling romance with Jake any time soon. One pal told the publication that Jake took Taylor to the January dinner "to see if there was still anything between them, if they could recapture the magic," before adding, "Sadly, it wasn't there." On how Taylor reacted to the meeting, the friend said, "The whole thing was really weird to her."
Taylor and Jake first sparked rumor of them dating back in October when spotted attending the taping of "Saturday Night Live" together. In early January, it was reported that they have called it quits just before New Year's Eve. Words are, Jake told Taylor their romance wasn't working out through a phone call. On the reason of the split, it was said Jake was uncomfortable with all the attention they got.
On January 19, the twosome caught media headlines when they were spotted enjoying a dinner for two at local eatery Bound'ry in Nashville. While People magazine reported that the two "were cordial to one another, but not affectionate," Hollywood Life claimed that Jake joined Taylor in her apartment after dinner and "was not spotted leaving the building anytime soon."
