Demi Lovato still hasn't apologized for punching dancer Alex Welch before leaving to seek treatment

More than a month after she received a shocking blow to the face by pal Demi Lovato, Alex Welch said she still hasn't heard from the Disney star.

"To this day, I haven't gotten an apology. I've heard nothing," Welch told People.com. "That's sad if you think that person is your friend."

Welch, a back-up dancer on Lovato's international tour with the Jonas Brothers, confirmed earlier reports that the 18-year-old rising star was upset after getting in trouble for partying.

According to Welch, Lovato "pulled the dancers in a room and threatened: 'If I find out who told on me ...'"

Welch, 21, said she "didn't think twice about it," because she was neither a witness to the partying nor the person who tattled.

But the dancer got a rude awakening while on a flight with Lovato and the rest of the tour members.

"We were on the plane with the Jonases, having this awesome time, and I didn't get a call or text from Demi or a 'Hey, you got a problem with me.' Nothing," Welch recalled. "And she walks up and punches me and literally walked away and got in her seat."

A Lovato source told People that the teen star "hasn't been able to call Alex because she is sequestered in treatment, but multiple efforts have been made to reach out to her."

But that isn't stopping Welch from considering legal action.

"No one should walk up and do that and brush it over. It's not right," she told the mag.

Added her lawyer, Donald Karpel, "We have contacted the Lovato camp and we are waiting for a response. If we don't hear back, we will pursue litigation."

Lovato's spokesperson told the magazine that they "are in the process of engaging with Alex's lawyer and hope to resolve this as quickly as possible."

"Demi feels awful about what happened. Right now, she is 100 percent committed to her treatment," the rep added.

On Saturday, TMZ.com posted a photo of Welch, taken days after the attack, where the dancer still had bruising and swelling by her left eye and cheek. According to People, she does not have any permanent damage.
