“He didn’t think about the potential risks of flying a monkey from one continent to another.
“He and Mally go everywhere together. He will be heartbroken it has been put in quarantine.
“He seems as fond of Mally as Michael Jackson was of his chimp Bubbles.”
It is thought Mally is a capuchin monkey given to Bieber to mark his 19th birthday by music producer Jamal Rashid.
Its sex is unknown as though Mally is a girl’s name in America it could be named after pal Jamal. Touring Bieber had flown from Lodz, Poland, back to Los Angeles on Monday, then took Mally on a Cessna Citation X he rents for £13,000-a-time to Munich’s Franz Josef Strauss Airport on Thursday ahead of his gig at the city’s Olympiahalle.
The star was detained “for some time” while furious customs officials confiscated Mally. It will be kept in quarantine at the airport at Bieber’s expense while the Baby singer faces a fine of more than £10,000.
A customs spokesman said: “The animal required a certificate of health and other authorisations.
“You cannot just land with a wild animal and bring it into the country if the flight has not originated from another EU country and you don’t have the proper paperwork.”
After the Munich gig Canadian-born Bieber travelled to Austria by bus. He has denied rumours he is having a breakdown after he kept fans at London’s O2 arena waiting for two hours, had a foul-mouthed bust-up with a photographer and allegedly spat at a neighbour in California in a row over noise.
His agent declined to comment.
JUSTIN Bieber is heading for major trouble if those around him don’t take immediate action.
Recent behaviour has all the hallmarks of someone spinning out of control the way the supremely talented yet ultimately tragic Michael Jackson did.
Unfortunately when someone is enormously successful a destructive emotional cocktail can kick into action. And people around them know they’ll be booted out if they red flag any over-the-top behaviour. Any sense of reality is destroyed.
The parallels between the eccentric behaviour of Michael and Justin are far too many to ignore. The echoes of Michael’s eccentric clothing and masks have surfaced in Justin going out in a mask.
Michael had, and Justin has, a rollercoaster lifestyle without brakes.
For his well-being I hope Justin gets help to moderate his behaviour. Someone must establish a sense of reality for this young man living in a fantasy.
