Zayn Malik Tweets #FreePalestine: Receives Mix of Death Threats, Fan Support

zayn malik free palestine tweetZayn Malik came under fire recently for tweeting #FreePalestine, receiving a mix of death threats and fan support, and drumming up a whole lot of arguing within the fandom. His tweet included just the hashtag and nothing else - and let's say not all of his followers were on board with his stance.

You may recall that Rihanna recently faced the same backlash for tweeting the #FreePalestine hashtag. She later removed the tweet and instead wrote: "Let's pray for peace and a swift end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict! Is there any hope?..."

Selena Gomez also weighed in with a "Pray for Gaza" message recently, which Joan Rivers had a field day with, so Zayn is in good company, we suppose.

Among the responses Zayn got: "Tweeting "Free Palestine" is pretty much the least hot thing a person can do. With a heavy heart, I remove Zayn Malik from my to-do list."

Another wrote: "U have fans in #Israel. It broke me that one of my idols wand me to die @benwinstone @harry_styles @onedirection."

Others took their disappointment to the next level, with tweets like "let me kill you" and "kill yourself Zayn."
